In a surprising turn of events, actress Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the highly anticipated sequel to the blockbuster film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’.
The news was confirmed by the film’s producers, Vyjayanthi Movies, in an official statement released on social media.
The production house’s statement cited an inability to “find a partnership” with the actress, noting that a film of this scale requires “commitment and much more.”
Reports suggest that the decision was a result of scheduling conflicts and disagreements over remuneration.
Deepika Padukone, a new mother, had reportedly requested a fixed shooting schedule to balance her work and personal life.
Her departure from the ‘Kalki’ sequel follows her recent exit from another Prabhas-starrer, ‘Spirit’.
Deepika is currently filming for director Atlee’s next project, which also features Allu Arjun.
