Actress Bhagyashri Borse has shared a personal story about overcoming bullying during her childhood after relocating from India to Nigeria with her family.
Speaking at the Honest Town Hall event, she recalled that she had studied in a Marathi-medium school in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and was fluent only in Marathi and Hindi before moving overseas.
According to the actress, she struggled with English after the move, which led to teasing from fellow Indian children living abroad. She admitted that the experience was painful but said it ultimately motivated her to improve her language skills.
Bhagyashri noted that many children face bullying for different reasons, whether related to appearance, language, academics or confidence. Rather than allowing those experiences to discourage her, she chose to treat them as motivation for personal growth.
She said looking back, the challenges helped her become more confident and played an important role in improving her English, adding that difficult experiences can often become stepping stones toward positive change.
