Actress Ashika Ranganath has shared her thoughts on Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’, saying the film reminded her of themes found in Indian epic, particularly the transition from the Dwapara Yuga to Kali Yuga described in the Mahabharatha.
Sharing her views on Instagram Stories, Ashika said the film continued to stay with her even days after watching it. She recalled being deeply absorbed in its narrative while sensing a familiarity she could not immediately identify.
According to the actor, the connection became clearer after she came across an interpretation comparing the events of ‘The Odyssey’ with stories surrounding Lord Krishna’s final days and the beginning of Kali Yuga. Having previously read books on the ‘Mahabharata’, she said the comparison intrigued her because both narratives explore gradual changes in society rather than a single defining event.
Ashika explained that the interpretation highlighted how the transition into a darker age is reflected through shifts in human behaviour and the erosion of values that once held communities together.
