Vijay Sethupathi, soon after announcing thaat he was pulling out of Sri Lankan offie Muthiah Muralidaran’s biopic ‘800’, called on Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at the latter’s residence in Chennai on Monday evening.
He paid floral tributes to a portrait of Palaniswami’s mother who passed away lask week. During the meeting, it is said he has conveyed his decision to opt out of ‘800’ to the Chief Minister.
Remember Information and Publicity Minister Kadambur C Raju said a few days ago that it would be good if Vijay Sethupathi walked out of the film.
Talking to reporters later, Vijay Sethupathi clarified that his tweet ‘Nandri, Vanakkam’ meant everything was over. “Nandri, Vanakkam means everything is over”, he said.
Earlier, Muralidharan, in a statement following the backlaskh being faced by Vijay Sethupathi in Tamil Nadu, said he was aware of the enormous pressure being exerted on the actor following his decision to act in the biopic.
Muralidharan, who said that he was not interested in a quality actor
like Vijay Sethupathi being affected, added with a view to ensure that there were no future objections in his film journey, he appealed to him to opt of the biopic.
