In a surprise announcement on Monday evening, Sun Pictures revealed that the title of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, which was hitherto known as ‘Thalaivar 168’, is ‘Annaatthe’.
Many Rajini fans went gaga over the title and felt it was powerful. However, some people said it would have been even more better if the title was ‘Annamalai Annaatthe’, since ‘Annamalai’ is a blockbuster movie of Rajinikanth.
Director Karthik Subbaraj, who helmed Rajinikanth’s 2019 film ‘Petta’, tweeted: “Sema Thalaivaaa. #Thalaivar168 is #Annaatthe #அண்ணாத்த All the best @sunpictures @directorsiva sir & whole team.”
‘Annaatthe’ is directed by Siva, with Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Prakash Raj, Suri and Sathish among others in key roles. Music is by D Imman.
