Vikram’s ambitious film ‘Thangalaan’ has been released on Netflix without prior announcement, surprising audiences.
The film, initially expected to arrive on streaming platforms four weeks after its theatrical release, faced a delay of nearly 17 weeks.
The film’s production house, Neelam Productions, posted about the film’s OTT release on X. The caption read, “A quest for gold and justice buried deep in the pages of history! Stream the epic #Thangalaan, now on @netflix (sic).”
Directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Studio Green, ‘Thangalaan’ is set against the historical backdrop of the Kolar Gold Mines and explores themes of oppression and rebellion.
Alongside Vikram, the cast includes Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, and Pasupathy.
