Many of us know that director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s debut movie ‘Maanagaram’ is going to be remade in Hindi. But, the lesser known fact is, Vijay Sethupathi will be part of the project.
It is said that some changes have been made to the original scripe and Vijay Sethupathi will be seen enacting a pivotal character which was there in the Tamil original.
Cinematographer Santosh Sivan will be helming the Bollywood remake of ‘Maanagaram’ and that Vikrant Massey will essay Sundeep Kishan’s role in Hindi. Veteran actor Sanjay Mishra will also be playing a significant character in the movie.
Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi is part of Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming film ‘Master’, which has Vijay in the lead.
‘Maanagaram’ is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by S R Prabhu. The film features Sri, Sundeep Kishan, and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles, while Charle, Madhusudhan Rao, Munishkanth, and Vivek Prasanna play supporting roles.
The film finished production in late 2015, and was released on 10 March 2017. Upon release, the film won critical acclaim and became a successful venture at the box office.
