Director Sudha Kongara recently revealed that a crucial cameo role in the Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Parasakthi’ was originally offered to Vijay Deverakonda.
Due to his heavy filming schedule for the big-budget project ‘Kingdom’, Vijay was unable to take up the role despite showing interest in the script.
The role eventually went to Rana Daggubati, who stepped in to play the character involved in a high-intensity language-based pre-climax sequence.
Sudha Kongara mentioned that the idea for these regional language cameos was something she had planned long before seeing similar surprises in films like ‘Jailer’.
While ‘Parasakthi’ faced a mixed reception at the box office, the news of this “casting that almost was” has been viral among Telugu and Tamil cinema fans.
