Composer AR Rahman’s Chennai concert titled ‘Marakuma Nenjam’, held on September 10, was slammed for poor management.
Women were allegedly molested, children and elderly people suffered difficulties in the crowd as well.
Meanwhile, a YouTube channel came up with a video saying that this incident was orchestrated and composer Vijay Antony had a role to play.
Following the video, Vijay Antony has reacted to it and added that he would file a defamation case against them.
In a statement, Vijay Antony has clarified that they are baseless lies. His statement is loosely translated to, “With sadness in my heart, I am writing this letter to put a full stop to the ongoing controversy. A sister, in her YouTube channel, has been spreading lies about me and my brother AR Rahman. They are absolute lies. I am going to file a defamation case against them.”
He ended his letter by saying, “I will donate the money I receive as compensation to my friends from the music industry, who are in need.”
AR Rahman’s team has been personally reaching out to the fans, who were not able to enter the venue due to overcrowding. ACTC Events has also promised to refund the amount to people who were denied entry.
