‘Vaadi Vaasal’, directed by Vetrimaaran, features Suriya in the lead. Reports suggested that due to the debate over ‘Paruthiveeran’, which starred Suriya’s brother Karthi in his debut, it is unlikely that Suriya and Ameer will be sharing screen space.
However, quashing all those rumours, Vetrimaaran’s banner Grass Root Film Co recently uploaded a picture of the two directors who are seen discussing something.
The caption of the post read, “Director Vetrimaaran met Director Ameer to discuss his role in Vaadi Vaasal. The prominence of his role in the script has increased during the writing process and is tailor made for Director Ameer. He is irreplaceable as an actor in the film.” This post confirms the news that the Paruthiveeran director will indeed be part of Suriya’s upcoming film.
The ‘Viduthalai’ director said that Ameer will be doing a pivotal role in the film. “When he played Rajan in Vada Chennai, I thought I would give him some input. When casting him in Vaadi Vaasal, I knew that if I was inside the house, he would give me a lot of input,” the filmmaker elaborated.
‘Vaadi Vaasal’ is Vetrimaaran’s first collaboration with Suriya. The film is said to be an adaptation of CS Chellapa’s Tamil novel of the same name.
