At last, the long wait came to an end today and the big battle started in the box-office, as the two most anticipated movies of this season- Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ and Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ hit the screens.
While the special shows of ‘Thunivu’ started as early as 1 am, those of ‘Varisu’ commenced at 4 am in theatres across Tamil Nadu.
A festival atmosphere prevailed at cinema halls as the fans of the ‘Thala’ and the ‘Thalapathy’ celebrated the release of their favourite stars’ movies in a grand manner. Police protection was given to theatres.
Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Thunivu’ also stars Manju Warrier, John Kokken, Veera, Samuthirakani, Mamathi Chari and Prem Kumar in prominent roles. Produced by Boney Kapoor, music for the movie is by Ghibran.
‘Varisu’ bankrolled by Tollywood’s leading producer Dil Raju has Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. The film is directed by Vamsi Paidipally.
‘Varisu’ features a strong star cast that includes many popular faces including Khushbu Sundar and Sarathkumar.
