The food is served on a banana leaf spread over a plate and hence, there is not much water spent on washing. Further, the banana leaves used are being fed to stray cattle and serve as good food for them.
On the highway from Chennai to Bangalore after the (vellai gate) flyover at Kanchipuram, to your left you will find a small eatery.
No chairs to sit and the breakfast or dinner is served in a plate and over a banana leaf. Just stand and eat as a typical street eatery or sit in your car.
The whole family of two brothers, father and mother are at their jobs and the quality of food is great.
For the breakfast Idly, 4 types of Dosa, Crispy Vada, Poori/Bhaji, Omlet being served with Coconut chutney, onion chutney, vadakari, korma, alu masala and sambar.
For the dinner, Chappati, Parota, Kothu Parota, Veechu Parota with Korma, Chutney and Sambar served.
No big names or ads, simple place and offering hot food both the times. The crowd is coming in and moving on.
No extra charges for additional quantity of accompaniments. In fact, they keep checking at you for “Dil Maange More”.
For all these you pay just Rs.50-60/- per head and it is tasty, healthy (as made by their mother with love) and suits every pocket.
I was recommended to try and it was simply great. I love good food and really enjoyed it.
As per the Government policy, why not we recommend and support such local food joints who do a great service with quality and with love and not having just a commercial motive.
I went in for the second day also for breakfast and the love and the smiling face with which both the brothers Rajendran and Rukmangathan treat, makes you feel at home.
We have such homely Street foods all over India and let us support and promote them.
