With several movie lined up for released in 2021, it is not just a big year for the Kollywood’s top heroes but also for some of the star kids who are waiting to make their presence felt on the silver screen.
Recently, Arun Vijay’s son Arnav Vijay has been roped into play a role in a film that is being bankrolled by Suriya’s home banner. Similarly, Santhanam’s son Nibun is also debuting in a film along with actor-choreographer and director Prabhu Deva. Here is a look at the young sons of Kollywood actors who have recently debuted and announced their entry in films.
Nibun Santhanam
Santhanam started off his career in television, later on became a popular comedian and recently a bankable hero. Now, his son Nibun is all set to debut in a film starring Prabhu Deva, which will be directed by N Raghavan of ‘Manjappai’ fame. It is reported that Nibun’s role will be a pivotal one and the film will revolve around the young boy’s character.
Arnav Vijay
Coming from a family of film stars, it is no wonder that Arnav Vijay is keen to do films. In fact, Arun Vijay debuted as a child actor in ‘Murai Mappillai’ in 1995. In an interaction, Arun Vijay revealed that Arnav is so clued in films that when Jayam Ravi’s son made his acting debut, he asked Arun Viay when he would be getting a launch pad in films. Now, Arnav will be debuting in a movie which is being produced by actor Suriya’s home banner. The fun-filled kids’ film will be directed by debutant Sarov Shanmugam and the movie will focus on the relationship between a boy and his pet dog.
Aarav Ravi
In Jayam Ravi’s space drama, ‘Tik Tik Tik’, he played the role of a magician. The film was directed by Sakthi Soundarrajan and in the film, Ravi’s on- screen son was played by none other than his real son, Aarav Ravi. Jayam Ravi wrote an emotional post on Twitter welcoming his son on board the film, which also coincided with Ravi completing 15 years of his debut film Jayam. It was also reported that Aarav will be acting in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ in which Jayam Ravi is playing the role of Arulmozhi Varman, though there is no official communication as to what will be Aarav’s role in the movie.
Surya Vijay Sethupathi
Vijay Sethupathi’s son Surya debuted in movies with his dad’s film, ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’. Surya played the younger version of Vijay Sethupathi in the Vignesh Shivan directorial. He again teamed up with his dad and played a petty thief and sidekick of Vijay Sethupathi’s character in ‘Sindhubaadh’.
Ken Karunas
Ken, who was seen as a child actor in ‘Nedunjalai,’ ‘Azhagu Kutti Chellam’ and ‘Ambasamudram Ambani’, bagged a prominent role in ‘Asuran’, directed by Vetrimaaran. In the acclaimed movie, he played Chidamabram, son of actor Dhanush’s character. It was his dad and actor Karunas who introduced him to Vetrimaaran and the director was impressed by the boy’s talent. Ken had to reduce his weight to play the role and he also was groomed by Aadukalam Naren to perfect the role.
