Shraddha to play sex worker


Shraddha Das will play the role of a prostitute in choreographer-turned-director Vidyasagar’s upcoming family drama. She will play the romantic interest of Jagapati Babu in the yet untitled movie.

A source was quoted as saying by TOI: “Jagapati Babu plays an industrialist who heads a huge company that manufactures condoms. He hires prostitutes to feature in all the commercials for his products, which is when he meets Shraddha, and the duo gradually fall in love.”

Shraddha Das is an actress and a singer who has appeared in multiple Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali films. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra to Bengali parents.

Her father is a businessman, who hails from Purulia, her mother is a housewife. She is a Buddhist. She was brought up in Mumbai, where she completed her studies. Shraddha graduated from University of Mumbai at SIES College of Commerce and Economics with a Bachelor of Mass Media degree in journalism.

While doing her graduation she worked in theater and attended workshops conducted by National School of Drama artists like Piyush Mishra, Chittaranjan Giri and Salim Shah. She also acted in print advertisements like McDowells, Aristocrat and over 400 catalogues before training at the Gladrags academy.
