The year 2024 looks like it’s going to be one of the specials for Tamil actor Karthi. The actor’s upcoming projects include sequels to some blockbuster hit films.
Here, we list the sequels to Karthi’s films that we can look forward to watching in 2024:
‘Sardar 2’
Directed by PS Mithran, ‘Sardar’ was released in 2022. ‘Sardar 2’, the sequel to the spy-action drama, is currently in development. Karthi had confirmed the news earlier with a release of its announcement on his social media handles. He had also recently reshared a video with various scenes from the film and positive audience reviews to mark the one-year anniversary of his blockbuster film. Music composer GV Prakash returns for the second installment.
‘Kaithi 2’
As director Lokesh Kanagaraj promised, Karthi’s LCU debut movie, ‘Kaithi’, will also have a sequel. Karthi reprises his role as Dilli from the first film.
Director Lokesh has increased the hype around the sequel by announcing in a recent interview that it is under development and that he will soon work on the spin-off of the iconic LCU character.
‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru 2’
The sequel to ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’, one of the most successful films of Karthi’s career, has officially been green-lighted. The 2017 action thriller was helmed by H Vinodh, who, in a recent conversation with a publication, confirmed that he has begun work on the ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ sequel. It will be his next film after Kamal Haasan’s ‘KH233’.
‘Aayirathil Oruvan 2’
The 2010 super hit film starring Karthi, Reema Sen and Andrea Jeremiah will get its sequel 13 years after its release. However, the director have roped in Dhanush as the lead character. It is speculated that Karthi’s character will have a significant role to play in the film. Recently, composer GV Prakash spoke about his excitement over working on the hit film’s sequel.
