News about pan-Indian movies are surfacing more often these days. On the other hand, there are also several remakes which are on the pipeline.
Several successful movies from one film industry in India are being remade in other industries. And, Tamil flicks are also being remade in other languages. Let us take a look at some of those movies.
Ratchasan
Tamil thriller blockbuster ‘Ratchasan’ is set to be remade in Hindi as ‘Mission Cinderella’. It’s now confirmed that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh will star in the Hindi remake of the film ‘Ratchasan’.
The original version had Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in lead roles. The movie will be directed by Ranjit M Tewari, who helmed Akshay’s upcoming release ‘Bell Bottom’.
Narappa
‘Narappa’ is the remake of the Tamil hit flick ‘Asuran’ directed by Vetrimaran. The movie is being made in Telugu by Srikanth Addala and is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and Daggubati Suresh Babu.
Venkatesh plays the lead role in the move. Priyamani plays his wife. The shooting of the film is complete and it is all set to release once the lockdown in lifted.
Anniyan
Shankar who will be directing ‘RC15’ with Ramcharan next, also has a yet untitled project with Ranveer Singh in the lead role.
The movie, which has sparked debate since its introduction, is said to be a remake of Shankar’s own ‘Anniyan’, which was released in 2005. The project’s introduction drew varied reactions from cinema fans and internet users alike.
Vikram Vedha
Vikram Vedha’s Hindi adaptation has been in the news for a long time. Whenever rumours about the project surfaced online, the names of many Bollywood actors cropped up.
Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan will play the roles played by Vijay Sethupathi and Madhavan, respectively. Along with Hindi film lovers, Tamil film buffs are also extremely excited about the project. Along with Hindi film fans, Tamil film fans are excited to see who Pushkar-Gayatri would cast as the lead in the adaptation.
The Great Indian Kitchen
In the original version, Nimisha Sajayan and Suraj Venjaramood played the parts of Aishwarya Rajesh and Rahul Ravindran, respectively. Film enthusiasts are excited about one of the renowned flicks produced this year.
Article 15
Arunraja Kamaraj has signed on to helm the adaptation of the renowned Hindi film ‘Article 15’, which featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Sayani Gupta, Nasser, and others.
He made his directorial debut with the Aishwarya Rajesh-starrer ‘Kanaa’. The unnamed Tamil version, which is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor, will star Udhayanidhi Stalin, Aari, and Tanya Ravichandran, among others.
Andhagan
Prashanth-starrer ‘Andhagan’, a remake of Hindi hit ‘Andhadhun’, was formally launched in Chennai.
The film began with a traditional pooja in front of the cast and crew. Thiagarajan, who also serves as the film’s producer, will direct the film.
Prashanth had previously worked with Thiagarajan on films like as ‘Aanazhagan’, ‘Shock’, ‘Ponnar Shankar’ and ‘Mambattiyan’.
