Rajini-Kamal reunion: Director still unconfirmed amid Nelson Dilipkumar buzz
The most anticipated collaboration in Indian cinema, the on-screen reunion of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan after 46 years, is officially happening, bankrolled by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI).
While initial buzz pointed to Lokesh Kanagaraj, fresh off directing Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’, the latest reports suggest a pivot towards Nelson Dilipkumar.
Sources indicate that Rajinikanth was reportedly seeking a lighter, more family-friendly narrative, which Nelson, director of the blockbuster ‘Jailer’ and currently helming ‘Jailer 2’, may have successfully pitched.
However, the news remains an unconfirmed rumor, as Rajinikanth himself recently clarified that while the project is moving forward, the director for this mega-multistarrer has not yet been finalised.
Pre-production is slated to begin only after the completion of ‘Jailer 2’, ensuring the script is compelling enough for this historic cinematic event.
