There were reports earlier that Shriya Saran would be the heroine of the Telugu remake of Dhanush-starrer ‘Asuran’, which would feature Venkatesh in the lead role.
However now, it is said Priyamani would be the leading lady of the movie. “Priyamani is likely to play Manju Warrier’s role in the Telugu remake and she is expected to soon sign the dotted line,” say reports.
The film, which is yet to be titled, will be directed by Srikanth Addal and it is learnt that pre-production work has started already. While Dhanush and Manju Warrier played the lead roles in the Tamil version, Venkatesh is replacing Dhanush in the Telugu remake.
‘Asuran’ will be remade in Telugu by Venkatesh’s home banner, Suresh Productions, in association with Kalaipuli S Thanu, who bankrolled the Tamil original. The shoot of the Telugu remake of ‘Asuran’ would commence soon and an official announcement on the movie’s cast and crew, including the name of the director, would be made soon.
