Exactly a day after the much talked about wedding of Vanitha Vijayakumar with Peter Paul, it emerged that the latter’s first wife Elizabeth has filed a police complaint, alleging that he had cheated her.

In her complaint lodged at the Vadapalani police station, she alleged that Peter got married for the second time without getting a divorce from her. Elizabeth mentioned that they have two children and have been separated for the past seven years.

Reacting to this, Vanitha said that Elizabeth was trying to extort money from Peter and was demanding Rs one crore. “I know about Peter’s first marriage and he is a very good person. We will handle this issue legally,” she said.

Earlier this month, Vanitha had announced her impending wedding with Peter Paul on social media. The actress, who was married twice already, had shared a detailed statement explaining how she met and fell in love with aspiring filmmaker Peter Paul.

“When he asked for my hand in marriage, I was speechless (deep inside, I was screaming yes though). I told him my children need to approve. And when he spoke to them, they screamed yes. Tears welled up in my eyes when my daughters said this was the best thing that has happened to me, and they want him in their lives as well,” she had said.
