R Parthiepan’s ‘Iravin Nizhal’ is all set to be released on 15 July. This is an experimental film which is shot in a single take. If there is one thing that audiences can expect from Parthiepan’s movie is that he will not shy away from trying out new things. Let us take a look at some of the experimental films of the actor.
Otha Seruppu Size 7:
Masilamani (R Parthiepan) is a suspect in a murder case and cops take him in custody for investigation. The movie starts with a middle-aged Masilamani (Parthiban) being interrogated by police personnel in a police station. The audience gets to hear only the voices of everyone else other than Masilamani. Parthiepan is the only character that the audience get to see on screen.
Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam:
The project stars an all-new cast in the lead roles along with several experienced actors in cameo roles and becomes Parthiepan’s first directorial film in which he does not feature in the lead role. Contrary to the title, the movie does not have a story. Parthiepan’s smart writing and captivating screenplay attracted the audience.
Kudaikkul Mazhai:
Venkat (Parthiepan) finds himself in a spot when suddenly a young, modern, good-looking Madhumita (Madhumitha) follows him everywhere, proclaiming her love for him. He knows that she’s too big a catch for him and even tells her so, but when she goes on in a romantic vein, he yields to the temptation. And that spells his doom for it has been a charade all along. The shock is too much for the mild mannered Venkat. The affected, cobwebbed mind begins to develop schizophrenic tendencies.
Housefull:
Parthiepan plays Ayya, a respected man who runs a cinema theatre. The story begins when bombs are placed inside the theatre during a movie. Surya and Rattan play police officers who want to defuse the bombs without letting the audience know. Vikram plays a man inside the theatre, and Suvalakshmi the woman outside who loves him. This was one of the best thrillers of that time.
