Nithya Menen talks about facing body-shaming

Nithya Menen, who is popular in Kollywood thanks to ‘Kanchana 2’, ‘Mersal’ and ‘Psycho’ and in Tollywood with ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde’, ‘Ishq’, ‘Janatha Garage’ and ‘OK Bangaram’, has opened up about the body-shaming that she has faced.

Speaking to a web portal, she said that those who criticise have usually never done as much as she has and how they don’t realise that someone’s weight might be different than theirs due to various other factors than just lifestyle.

The actress said that she believes in not blowing up such personal problems or give interviews about them. The actress is currently busy with the web-series, ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’, season 2 of ‘Breathe’.

Nithya Menen is an actress, playback singer and dubbing artist, who appears in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi films where she has established herself as a leading actress. She is recipient of three Filmfare Awards for the Telugu films ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde’, ‘Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju’ and ‘Mersal’ in Tamil.

After making her acting debut as a child in the 1998 English film ‘The Monkey Who Knew Too Much’, Nithya Menen started her acting career by playing supporting role in Kannada film ‘7 O’ Clock’.

She made her debut in leading role in Malayalam with ‘Akasha Gopuram’, Telugu with ‘Ala Modalaindi’ and Tamil with ‘180’. In August 2019, she made her Bollywood debut with ‘Mission Mangal’.
