Madhavan and Anushka Shetty-starrer ‘Nishabdham’, which was scheduled for a worldwide release on January 31, has been little delayed. The film is now slated to hit the screens on February 20.
Directed by Hemant Madhukar, the film features an ensemble star cast that includes the likes of Michael Madsen, Anjali, Shalini Pandey, Subbaraju and Srinivasa Avasarala in pivotal roles.
In a recent interview, writer-producer Kona Venkat said that Anushka was not the first choice for ‘Nishabdham’. “Anushka wasn’t the first choice for the female lead’s role as I have written the script for another female superstar,” he said.
He added: “When I was returning from Mumbai, I spotted Anushka on the same flight. Suddenly, the plane had a tyre puncture and it has been diverted to Chennai. Meanwhile, I pitched the storyline of ‘Nishabdham’ to her and it took a week’s time for her to give the final nod.”
Made in Telugu and Tamil, ‘Nishabdham’ will also be dubbed into Malayalam, Hindi and English. The movie has cinematography by Shaneil Deo, music by Gopi Sunder and action sequences by Alex Terjiff.
