In a recent interaction, Nelson stated, “I’d rather avoid making big claims and raising sky-high expectations. If the film doesn’t live up to expectations, people might dismiss it as a ‘waste.’ Better to keep expectations realistic.”

Nelson’s statement has been met with appreciation from netizens who see it as a sensible strategy to prevent a potential backlash if the film doesn’t meet the massive hype that often surrounds big-ticket projects.

The director’s first installment, starring Rajinikanth, was a massive success, and the sequel, ‘Jailer 2’, is currently in production with a planned release in summer 2026.
