At a time when a Sivakarthikeyan-Sudha Kongara film has been named ‘Parasakthi’, National Pictures has requested others not to use the title ‘Parasakthi’ for any other movie as they are planning to release the classic film ‘Parasakthi’ in a digitally enhanced format.

As per the company’s statement, ‘Parasakthi’, a landmark film directed by Krishnan-Panju, scripted by Karunanidhi, and featuring the debut of actor Sivaji Ganesan, was released in 1952.
The film was produced by Perumal Mudaliar, under the National Pictures banner, with AVM Studios handling distribution rights for certain regions.
Despite initial opposition from A.V. Meiyappan of AVM Studios about casting Sivaji as the lead, Perumal Mudaliar insisted on Sivaji, showcasing his firm decision, it said. In return, Sivaji continued to honor Perumal Mudaliar by visiting him every Pongal festival until his last days.
‘Parasakthi’, known for its impactful dialogues and Sivaji’s emotional performance, remains etched in the hearts of its audience. Even after milestones like its Golden and Diamond Jubilees, the film’s relevance endures.
Approaching its 75th anniversary, National Pictures takes pride in announcing their initiative to digitally enhance and re-release ‘Parasakthi’. They appeal to others to refrain from using this title for their own projects, as the movie holds full rights with National Pictures.
