Dhanush’s ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ has hit the screens this week. The trailer of the movie has created quite a buzz among the fans, especially the family audience.
With his boy next door look, Dhanush is one actor who is easily able to pull the family audience to the theatres. Let us take a look at some of the actor’s movies which are targeted at family audiences.
Yaaradi Nee Mohini:
Though the movie starts off as a love story, it slowly takes the family sentiment route. This film marks the debut of Mithran Jawahar who is also Thiruchitrambalam’s director. The movie had a perfect mix of romance, comedy and emotions. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja was chartbusting.
Velai illa Pattadhari:
The movie had everything needed for a family entertainer – Mother sentiment, father sentiment, brother sentiment, friendship and love. Anirudh’s music was one of the biggest strengths of the movie.
Uthamaputhiran:
Dhanush and teamed up with director Mithran Jawahar once again. This movie is the remake of the Telugu film ‘Ready’. With an ensemble of cast, the movie opened withe moderate success. However, the movie has a huge following when it is aired on TV.
Thangamagan:
This is a complete family drama directed by R Velraj. Though the movie did not get the expected response in theatres, it still has good TV viewership. Anirudh has once again scored for this movie and the songs are all super hit.
Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram:
The movie is directed by Suresh Krissna and is rhe remake of the Kannada film ‘JOgi’. he film revolves around a woman who comes to the city from her village in search of her presumably lost son.
Venghai:
Veerapandi (Raj Kiran) is a rich landlord and the undisputed leader of Pandiapuram, who helps Rajalingam (Prakash Raj) become a legislator by asking his supporters to vote for him. Veerapandi’s only wish is that Rajalingam work sincerely for the people and bring in progress and development. When he finds out that the only aim of Rajalingam is to make money, Veerapandi berates the MLA publicly. Rajalingam vows revenge and plans to target Selvam (Dhanush), the only son of Veerapandi. What happens next forms the rest of the story. Director Hari delivered a complete family entertainer with Venghai.
