Cat on the wall

Mathil

– Review

’Mathil’ is the story of how a common man fights against a powerful politician who tries to occupy his property.

K S Ravikumar is a retired theatre artiste. Right from his childhood he wanted to live in his own house and after working hard for several years, he finally realises his dream.

However, he did not know that his happiness will be shortlived. Mime Gopi, a politician, paints his party symbol on the wall of Ravikumar’s house.

This leads to a war between the duo. How Ravikumar takes on the powerful politician forms the rest of the story.

Director Mithran Jawahar has not experimented much but has tried to present a done and dusted theme in a different way.

The face-off between the two leading characters are interesting. Ravikumar brings the emotional connect needed to feel for his character.

He is earnest in his role. Mime Gopi has pulled off similar roles in his previous movies and does it with ease this time also.

The technical aspects of the movie are also good. L V Muthukumarasamy’s music is soothing and G Balamurugan’s camerawork is realistic.
