Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj has finally clarified why he opted out of the monumental project that was to unite legends Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Speaking at a press meet in Chennai, Lokesh revealed that after working on the script for over 1.5 months, it became clear that both senior actors wanted to move away from intense action for a “lighter-toned” film.
Lokesh candidly admitted that a light-hearted genre isn’t his strength, stating, “Such films aren’t my cup of tea.”
Following his exit, the project, titled Thalaivar 173, will now be directed by Cibi Chakravarthi and produced by Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International.
Lokesh is now fully focused on his newly announced project with Allu Arjun.
