The 70th National Film Awards winners have been officially announced recognizing exceptional talent and achievements in cinema.
Actors, technicians, and films have been celebrated for their remarkable contributions. The awards ceremony, where President Droupadi Murmu will honour the winners, is scheduled for October 2024.

Vetrimaaran reveals a major update about ‘Vaadivaasal’

Suriya is supposed to do ‘Vaadivaasal’ with filmmaker Vetrimaaran.

The director is now focusing on his next release, ‘Viduthalai 2’.

The cop action drama is taking more time, and hence, Suriya’s film with Vetrimaaran didn’t take off.

During a recent media interaction, Vetrimaran said, “Even Valaipechu said we can rename the movie Moodi Vaasal as we have not started the movie yet. But we will commence the filming very soon after Viduthalai’s completion.”

Many believed that ‘Vaadivaasal’ was shelved as there were many delays, but now Vetrimaaran has put a full stop to all the rumors.

GV Prakash Kumar will compose the tunes for this rural action drama. Kalaipuli S Thanu will bankroll it under the banner of V Creations.

Dhanush’s ‘Raayan’ locks its OTT release date

‘Raayan’ is the latest release from Kollywood, marking Dhanush’s 50th film as a hero and his second as a director.

The movie features a notable cast including SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidasu Jairam, and Dushara Vijayan in key roles.

It has recently garnered attention with its announcement of premiering on OTT space.

According to the latest update from Amazon Prime Video, ‘Raayan’ is set to make its grand debut on August 23, 2024.

It will be available for streaming in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

Produced by Sun Pictures and featuring a soundtrack by AR Rahman, this action drama also stars Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Aparna Balamurali, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, among others.

H Vinoth: ‘Thalapathy 69’ will be 200% Vijay film
Director H Vinoth has confirmed that he will be working with Vijay in the project which is tentatively titled ‘Thalapathy 69’.
The film is already drowned in so much anticipation for not only it being the actor’s first collaboration with the filmmaker, but also Vijay’s final film as an actor before he takes up the role of a full-time politician. Further, Vinoth also shared key details about the project.
H Vinoth said, “It will be 200% Thalapathy film which will be commercial and cater to everyone.” Asked if it will be a political film, Vinoth said, “No. When we had committed to making this film, Vijay said that his films will be watched by all age groups and everyone. So, this film will not attack any political party, nor will be political. It is a light film which will be fully commercial.”
The makers are yet to announce the cast and crew of the film. As per reports, the film is expected to go on floors in October 2024. Actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Mamitha Baiju are expected to be part of the cast, with KVN Productions bankrolling the project.
