Director Shankar has said that he will be reshooting Vivek’s portions in ‘Indian 2’ with another actor. Vivek was set to play a police officer in the movie and some of his portions were already shot.

Vivek had passed away due to a massive heart attack on 17 April. Earlier, ‘Indian 2’ makers have filed a petition in court against director Shankar and asked the director to complete the film before he starts working on his next.

But the judge has asked both parties to come together to find a smooth solution regarding the film’s process and re-assigned the case to 28 April.

It is said that Shankar has stated that he has free time only from July to October and will try to complete the film.

‘Indian 2’ is a sequel to his 1996 film ‘Indian’ The film is being produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner Lyca Productions. The script was written by Shankar, along with B Jeyamohan, Lakshmi Saravanakumar and Kabilan Vairamuthu.

The film stars Kamal Haasan and Nedumudi Venu reprising their roles from the first film, while new cast consists of Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Bobby Simha, Rakul Preet Singh and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, whilst cinematography and editing are handled by R Rathnavelu and A Sreekar Prasad, respectively.
