Following the release of his latest film, ‘Coolie’, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has once again been pressed on the possibility of uniting cinematic legends Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on screen.
While Kanagaraj had previously stated that the project, if it ever happens, would have to be initiated by the two actors themselves, recent reports suggest that discussions are now underway.
Rumors are rife that the film, which would be the first on-screen collaboration between Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan in over four decades, could be a gangster flick produced by Kamal Haasan’s own Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) in a potential collaboration with Sun Pictures.
This development comes after the theatrical release of ‘Coolie’, which was a standalone project and not part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). It remains to be seen if this highly anticipated multi-starrer will push back Kanagaraj’s long-awaited sequel, ‘Kaithi 2’.
While no official announcement has been made, the prospect of this dream project has sent waves of excitement through the industry and among fans.
