October promises an exciting lineup of films in Kollywood, with several major releases on the horizon. While some films have confirmed their release dates, others are still finalising their schedules. Here’s a look at the Tamil movies slated to hit theaters this month.
‘Vettaiyan’:
The much-anticipated ‘Vettaiyan’, starring Rajinikanth, is set to release on October 10. This pan-Indian film is expected to take the box office by storm, potentially breaking records. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, Rajinikanth portrays a fearless police officer, with a stellar cast that includes Amitabh Bachchan, Manju Warrier, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music, and promotional activities for the film are already underway.
‘Amaran’:
Starring Sivakarthikeyan, ‘Amaran’ is scheduled to debut on October 31, coinciding with Deepavali. The film aims to expand Sivakarthikeyan’s audience, as it will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy, ‘Amaran’ tells the inspiring story of the late Major Mukund Varadharajan and promises to be an action-packed entertainer. Sai Pallavi plays the female lead, with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
‘Vanangaan’:
Renowned director Bala is gearing up for the release of ‘Vanangaan’, starring Arun Vijay. After initially struggling to find a release date in August, the film is now expected to debut this October, with an official date to be announced soon. Roshini Prakash plays the female lead, and the music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, with Sam CS handling the background score.
‘Brother’:
Jayam Ravi is all set for the release of ‘Brother’ this Deepavali. Directed by M Rajesh, this romantic drama focuses on the bond between a brother and sister. Priyanka Mohan stars as the female lead, while Bhumika Chawla plays the role of the brother’s sister, adding depth to the narrative. The film’s music is by Harris Jayaraj, and its songs are gaining popularity on various platforms.
