Raayan marks the second directorial venture of Dhanush after ‘Pa Paandi’. It is also the 50th film of Dhanush as an actor.
The action thriller was initially scheduled for release on June 13, but due to some reasons, it got postponed. The movie will now arrive on July 26, in multiple languages.
During the pre-release event, it was revealed that ‘Raayan’ will be 140 minutes (2 hours and 20 minutes) long.
Despite the film featuring a stellar cast, including SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Selvaraghavan, Prakash Raj, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Jayaram, the duration is kept short.
At the pre-release event, multifaceted actor SJ Suryah said, “The story is set in North Madras. Hats off to Dhanush sir. He included some significant elements that are equal to Ramayana and Mahabharata, but still be narrated the film within 2 hours and 20 minutes. He did a fabulous job.”
Raayan is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. AR Rahman has composed the tunes.
