The face-off between the music composer Ilayaraja and audio companies is in the news for one more time as the Madras High Court gave a verdict in favour of Ilayaraja hearing a case that was filed over the audio companies violating the norms.
The Madras High Court said that the audio companies cannot sell CDs with songs composed by the music director. Having said that, the High Court gave a chance for the audio companies to file a counter-petition and adjourned the next hearing to the 31st of next month.
The issue reached the High Court with Ilayaraja knocking on the doors of the court challenging the orders issued by the single judge bench. In the orders, the bench said that the audio companies can sell the songs in the form of CDs. The single-judge bench heard the case in 2017.
However, Ilayaraja who was not happy with the court orders had challenged the same and took the issue to the two-judge bench.
