A new version with old flavour
Aranmanai 4
– Review
Sundar C is a lawyer living with his aunt Kovai Sarala. One day, he gets the news that his eloped sister Tamannaah Bhatia died by suicide after the death of her husband.
Sundar C, who is grieving the loss of his sister Tamannah, goes to Kovur, to take care of his sister’s children.
Upon his arrival, Sundar C learns that Tamannah could not have died by suicide.
He digs deeper to find out what happened to his sister and her husband. He takes the help of the local doctor Raashii Khanna, and the villagers to unravel the truth.
With ‘Aranmanai 4’, Sundar C has gone one step further and introduced something new.
Unlike the rest of the earlier parts, ‘Aranmanai’ 4 presents a concept called Baak, a human flesh-feasting and shape-shifting spirit that haunts the protagonists of the film.
The movie breaks out from the clutches of repeatedness, and there has been some writing that went into it.
It has got a substantial amount of story to add to its backbone, decent performances ba,cked by Tamannaah, Raashii and Sundar C.
There is aplenty of ensemble comedian cast in form of Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala and VTV Ganesh, trying to draw laughter and it has worked out in parts.
‘Aranmanai 4’ rides high on the production values. They are pretty much on point, and we see elaborately done portions towards the climax, that becomes a visual treat when the film threads on the concept of good versus evil.
