Ajith fans went ecstatic after they received the much awaited ‘Valimai’ update. Though the fans had to wait for a long time to get an update about the movie, Ajith was constantly in the news for the past few weeks. Though it was not related to movies, it showed the versatile side of the actor.

Rifle shooting
This seems to be the latest addition to the actor’s interest. Ajith was spotted several times practising at the Chennai Rifle Club. However, not many expected him to take part in the 46th Tamilnadu State Shooting Championship Competition. Not just participating, Ajith also won six medals by representing the Chennai Rifle club.
Ajith has earned the top spot in Air Pistol 10 metres (ISSF) Team, Center Fire Pistol .32 (NR) 25 metres Team, Standard Pistol .22 (ISSF) 25 metres Team and Free Pistol.22 (NR) 50 metres Team categories. He was second-best in Centre Fire Pistol.32 (ISSF) 25 metres Team and Standard Pistol .22 (NR) 25 metres team events.
Cycling his way
Just a few weeks before the rifle shooting stint, photos of Ajith on a bicycle trip to Kolkatta went viral on social media. Cyclist Suresh Kumar took to Instagram to share the pictures and videos of Ajith cycling in Kolkatta.
“In these 15 years of memorable cycling expeditions with ‘Thala’ Ajith, I have seen his unbelievable struggle to get just an hour for himself with one of his favourite hobby: Cycling. Yet, in a superb display of grit, patience and love, Thala keeps at the sport. Between his arduous shoots: every available time is spent cycling in different belts of India: Hyderabad, Vizag, Coimbatore, Coorg, Thirupathi, the Northern belt, just to mention a few. I am stunned to see his dedication and hard work in cycling despite the odds and have learned a lot from him. We have cycled together for over 30,000 km,” Suresh Kumar added.
Ajith had earlier embarked on a cycling trip on Sikkim.
Behind and Before the lens
Ajith does not like to be just in front of the camera but also gets behind it too. Ajith is said to have developed interest in photography during his ‘Dheena’ times after cinematographer Aravind gifted him a camera.
Shruti Haasan, Yogi Babu, Appu Kutty, Parvati Nair and Kabir Duhan Singh are some of the noted artists who were clicked by Ajith.
Aeromodelling and Racing
This is one of the well known hobbies of the actor. His association with MIT team Daksha infact increased his fan following. He took part in several workshops in India and also abroad. Daksha team had won several events under the guidance of Ajith.
Reportedly, Ajith took a break from his acting career during the early 2000s to pursue a career as a racer. Ajith has also participated in MRF Racing Series in 2010 as a professional racer. Meanwhile, reports have it that Ajith and his friends sneak in time from their busy schedule for racing and aeromodelling.
Others’ love for Ajith’s Biriyani
This article would be incomplete without the mentioning of Ajith’s Biriyani. Many celebrities have shared their experiences about Ajith’s cooking skills. It is said that Ajith cooked Biriyani for his co-star Kartikeya Gummakonda and the crew members of ‘Valimai’ on the last day shoot of their Pune Schedule. Ajith’s movies where he made biryani for the crew also includes his 50th project ‘Mankatha’ which was released in 2011.
