South Indian actress Tulasi, known for her compassionate motherly roles in over 300 films across five languages, has announced her decision to retire from acting.
The veteran star shared on social media that her final day in the film industry will be December 31, 2025.
Her retirement coincides with a planned pilgrimage to Shirdi, as she stated her intention to dedicate her life to spirituality and “continue my journey in peace with SAINADHA.”
Born in Chennai in 1967, Tulasi has appeared in more than 300 films across Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bhojpuri.
She made her debut as a child star in the 1973 Tamil film Arangetram, directed by K. Balachander. She later played the daughter of Rajinikanth’s character in ‘Nallavanukku Nallavan’.
