Lockdown extended: Schools, colleges and theaters continue to be shut in TN

Chief Minister M K Stalin today announced that schools, colleges and theaters will continue to remain shut in the state as the lockdown has been extended by one more week.

In a statement released by Stalin, he said that the lockdown in the State will be extended till 19 July with a few more additional relaxations.

‘Bus transport to Puducherry is allowed.

Competitive examinations for state and Union government jobs following standard operating procedures. The agencies will have to intimate the respective district collectors in advance. Restaurants, tea shops, bakeries, road-side eateries, sweet and savoury shops will be permitted with the usual conditions and 50% customers at a time till 9pm,’ the statement said. Certain activities, including inter-state public and private transport except Union territory of Puducherry, international air travel except the ones permitted by the Union home ministry, cinema theatres, all liquor bars, swimming pools, all social, political events where public would assemble, entertainment, sports and cultural events, schools and colleges and zoological parks will continue to be prohibited.
