There were multiple theories doing rounds about the alleged seizure of huge number of liquor bottles from a car owned by popular actress Ramya Krishnan.
Since liquor shops in Chennai still remain closed due to Covid-19 spread, tipplers from the city are rushing to neighbouring districts or Puducherry to purchase their share of liquor.
Hence, police have intensified vehicle checks in border areas. During one such check, actress Ramya Krishnan’s car passed by and was stopped. When the police searched the vehicle, they found beer and liquor bottles in large numbers, it is said.
While some sources say that the actress was present in the car when the incident happened, others say only her driver was there. The police picked up the driver and seized the liquor bottles. Later, he was released on bail with a severe warning, it is learnt.
This has made a huge buzz in cinema and media circles. The actress, it is said, might issue a statement about what has really happened.
