We are in the 18th day of Lockdown and possibly extended further. But, life has taught us good lesson and though there are negative effects but, it has created lot of positives as well.

In an economy, expenditure/consumption of resources with growth is a must. At the same time, where all we could adopt some stringent measures to reduce our expenditures/consumption of all our resources.

This article is aimed at highlighting certain areas where we could concentrate or which could be followed even after lockdown is over for the benefit of our society on the whole and keeping in mind our future generation as well.

I have just made a brief description on every situation and it is for us to take all the good points and learning and carry forward once the virus is eradicated.

1. Less of accidents – Road accidents in 2018 were put at 4.70lacs in a year from which 1.51 lacs lost their lives and 4.69 lacs got injured.

4. Less crime rate – The crime rates used to be between 44 to 1050 for every 100,000 people in different states and these have come down.
No political meetings and dharna or strikes reducing the expenses and crimes on those accounts.
Murder rate was put at 4.5 per 100,000 people and that has reduced.

5. Pollution free – The sky is cleared up of pollution to a great extent and whole atmosphere looks clean and better.

6. Roads are allowed to rest. – National Highways and State Roads are given the much needed rest. Reduced pollution and carbon footprint.

7. Less of imports thereby saving foreign exchange – Imports of luxury items, electronics and electrical goods, junk food and energy drinks have reduced. More saving on personal level and National level Forex Reserve.

8. Less of petrol and diesel consumption means reduced Government import and increase in forex reserves.

9. Threat of Life disciplined many people – Attitudes of many people have changed from arrogance to compassion. High handedness to love for fellow beings.

10. Improvement of relationship between states. – CM’s of all States leaving their political lines have come together to cooperate and this is important for the Country to move forward.

11. No queuing at hospitals – The usual rush and queuing up in hospitals reduced as General Health problems seems to have disappeared or home found medicines are working.

12. No holidays or expenses – No one is allowed to travel on holidays or entertainment and hence expenses have come down on this account.

13. More interaction within the family. – Interaction between the family members have increased and improved. They have been spending quality time together.

14. Less of outside food and junk food. – No more pizza and burgers and other junk food. People are living without junk food and aereated drinks which is more healthy and cost saving and increased savings in their bank accounts.

15. Mothers and wives and sisters are happy to cook for all of the family members – After a long time family cooking and eating is happening leading to healthy life style and again saving of unnecessary expenses. Love and care is assured with home food.

16. App’s developed to know the hospital and health situation. – Health App have been developed to coordinate with hospital and Doctors and lot of time, travel and money is saved.

17. IVRS (Interactive voice response system at hospitals – This was much needed for any situation and Governments have set it up and an all time high attention for health is given from all Government agencies.

18. Less of Corruption. – The situation have forced people to value health more than money and corruption levels have come down to a great extent.

19. Money loses its value against Humane – Big donations and donations from a women who saved it for her Haj pilgrimage and children breaking open their piggy banks to contribute for society.

20. Work from Home – Corporates and IT companies realised that work from home could be possible. This will reduce traffic on roads and mad rush everywhere.

21. Reduced Carbon footprints – Huge buildings and skyscrapers are all empty and their air conditioning is given rest. No external heat is created in the atmosphere and people are exposed to sunlight and fresh air.

22. Saving on Electricity- Due to the above reasons use at power grids have reduced and this will help in reduced power cut situation in the peak summer times and less of load shedding.

My only request and wish to all is to maintain a healthy living even after the lockdown is lifted and virus eradicated. “Every penny saved is penny earned”.

Stop complaining about the losses and start counting on areas of saving that have happened and use your time to take some good rest and plan to take a good leap to take the Nation forward which includes your family as well.

God Bless us all with a virus free World
