At a time when people are worried and depressed over the spread of Covid-19, lockdown and other incidents, Samantha Akkineni is spreading positivity.
Sharing a note penned by American writer-photographer Emma Zack, Samantha posted: “You do not have to write the next bestselling novel. You do not have to get in the best shape of your life. You do not have to start that podcast. What you can do is instead observe this pause as an opportunity.”
She added: “What if our true purpose is in this space? As if mother Earth is saying: we can no longer carry on this way. The time is now – I am reminding you who you are. Will you remember?”.
She urged people to break free of the shackles of capitalism and create art for the sake of it and get curious about whatever they wanted to. Samantha Akkineni is making use of the lockdown period to enrich her career. Through online, she has been taking acting classes via Masterclass by Hollywood actress Helen Mirren.
Along with a picture of her pet Hash lying by the pool as she takes a class, Samantha posted: “When you literally had one productive hour in a 1000 and must show it off .. (I am a going to be a much better actor now just you wait and see … if not ………. I will just be deleting this post)”.
The 74-year-old Helen Mirren is known for her roles in films such as ‘The Queen’ and ‘Red’ etc. Excelling on stage with the National Youth Theatre, her performance as Cleopatra in ‘Antony and Cleopatra’ in 1965 saw her invited to join the Royal Shakespeare Company before she made her West End stage debut in 1975.
