Fans and well-wishers of veteran director Bharathiraja were in shock when they came to know that the filmmaker was quarantined. Some even assumed that he showed symptoms of coronavirus aka Covid-19.
But, the truth is that, the ‘Mudhal Mariyadhai’ and ‘Kizhakku Seemaiyile’ maker had travelled to his native Theni district from Chennai to spend some days in his farm house there.
Though he went after obtaining permission from authorities, the health department officials examined him at the district border as per the protocol. “Bharathiraja was tested negative for coronavirus. But still, since he had come from red zone (Chennai), officials have asked him to isolate himself in his house for 14 days,” sources said.
On the work front, Bharathiraja is currently playing a key role in Simbu aka STR’s comeback movie ‘Maanaadu’ directed by Venkat Prabhu. An actor as well, Bharathiraja was recently seen playing a character role in Sivakarthikeyan-starrer ‘Namma Veettu Pillai’.
