Rathna Kumar, who made films such as Vaibhav-Priya Bhavanishankar-starrer ‘Meyaadha Maan’ and Amala Paul-starrer ‘Aadai’, is the dialogue writer of Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi-starrer ‘Master’, whose release has been delayed due to the Covid-19 induced lockdown.

Posting some nostalgic of pics of him enjoying the first day first show (FDFS) of Vijay films ‘Theri’ and ‘Mersal’, he has expressed disappointment over lack of work in film industry because of coronavirus.

He said, “Came across this picture in my old Hard disk. Theri FDFS at Udhayam Theater. Still remember the Crowd berserk. Missing those Golden days. Wish things to settle & theaters to reopen soon. And biggies #Master #SooraraiPottru & #JagameThandhiram to revamp Kollywood.”

In another post, he said, “Another Throwback . Mersal FDFS at Pallavaram Janatha. Went for Mersal even though my 1st film Meyaadhamaan got released on the same day.”

Talking about ‘Master’, he said recently: “The interval block is my favorite moment in the film. I’m sure it will be a blast”. Rathna also reiterated Pon Parthiepan’s earlier comment about the punch dialogues.

He added: “Master is not a film filled with explicit punch dialogues. Also, we shouldn’t write specific punchlines for Vijay sir. Sometimes, even his casual dialogue will be celebrated in theaters”.
