Delhi-based singer-songwriter MNV (pronounced Manav) drops his debut track ‘Gadbadi’ today.
MNV runs counter to the stripped-back trend in modern music. His sound is maximalist and retro-inspired, built to command the dance floor.
“I don’t really remember a time before music,” says MNV. “Even in school, I’d be tucked away in the back bench with a notebook- not taking notes, writing lyrics. That’s just always been in me. Training classically in Hindustani and Western vocals, writing in four languages, and having spent years as a live performer means I’ve got a lot of ways to tell a story, and I can’t wait to share them in this first chapter finally.”
