Importance of Education

“Sir”

– Movie Review

Vemal comes from a family of teachers. After feeling shameful that he is labeled as the grandson of a mentally unstable grandfather, he comes back as an adult to his village.

Vemal has taken up after his grandfather and father Saravanan, and becomes the teacher at the school in the village.

However, not all seem to be going right after certain anti-social elements want to thwart the educational institute for their selfish deeds.

Directed by Bose Venkat, the movie talks about the importance of education and presence of school in a village.

On a larger scale, the film takes on the issue of casteism that plagues the country, especially the rural pockets.

Bose Venkat has delivered the movie with a decent screenplay which has several sub plots.

Vemal has done a fair job in the film, and has handled both light and serious scenes equally.

The way in which he handles the complex xharacterisation is very impressive.

While rest of the cast are functional, it is only Saravanan who stands out from the supporting cast, as he brings a good performance.

The film’s big highlight are the songs and the BGM by composer Siddhu Kumar.  Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are good as well.

Rating: 3.5/5
