Movie Review
A decade ago, Samuthirakani and Sasikumar gave us the solid ‘Nadodigal’, which is a story of a bunch of youngsters. Though that movie too had messages, they were conveyed through a strong screenplay.
But, Samuthirakani, who now considers himself as ‘message messiah’, has dished out ‘Nadodigal 2’ as a movie that serves messages as main course and other things in between.
Jeeva (Sasikumar) is a social activist who works against the caste system. While he arranges a conference of like-minded youngsters, the leader of a caste party unleashes violence in it.
In the meantime, Jeeva’s marriage gets fixed with Sowmya (Athulya). Only on the night of his wedding, he learns that Sowmya was forced to marry him by her parents and she was in love with someone else.
Jeeva, the activist that he is, sends his wife with her lover. However, on coming to know about this, Sowmya’s parents and relatives vow to find out the whereabouts of Sowmya and her lover to murder them.
Jeeva, with the help of his friends (‘sago’s), is now on a mission to save Sowmya and her boyfriend. Is he able to do it?
Sasikumar has once again proved that he is a neat actor. Anjali as Sengodi, a revolutionary girl, adds value, while Athulya Ravi’s character carries shock value.
With the aid of technical departments and good team of actors, Samuthirakani could have delivered a film that is as engaging as Nadodigal. But he is only half successful due to his fetish for messages.
