“Mr. & Mrs. Mahi”

– Review

Rajkummar Rao dreams of joining the Indian cricket team but fails. His father pushes him to run the family business instead. Later, his parents arrange his marriage to Janhvi Kapoor, a doctor.

Rajkumar is surprised to learn that Janhvi loves cricket too. He hopes to achieve his dream with her support.

Will Janhvi support his wish and leave her job? How will their parents react? What ultimately happens forms the rest of the movie.

Rajkummar Rao’s portrayal of a character experiencing hope, distress, failure, and ambition is truly remarkable.

Directed by Sharan Sharma, the concept of the movie has much promise. However, the execution could have been much better.

A tighter screenplay by Sharan Sharma could have worked wonders for the film.

Janhvi Kapoor looks decent on screen, and her dedication to learning cricket is evident in her performance.

Other actors, such as Kumud Mishra, who plays Mahendra’s father, and Rajesh Sharma as the coach, deliver commendable performances in their roles.

John Stewart Eduri’s score compliments the theme of the movie well.

Anay Goswamy’s camera work captures the dynamism required for a sports drama. Rest of the technical aspects of the movie are passable as well.

Rating: 3.5/5
