One woman show
Ka Pae Ranasingam
– Review
Joining the list of films that are hitting the OTT platform straight, Vijay Sethupathi-Aishwarya Rajesh starrer ‘Ka Pae Ranasingam’ is now available for streaming.
The film mostly, or even fully, belongs to Aishwarya Rajesh and she carries the maximum burden so effortlessly on her shoulders, thanks to her brilliant efforts. Vijay Sethupathi does an extended cameo with elan.
Ranasingam (Vijay Sethupathi) is a crusader in Ramanathapuram district who fights for the cause of people and villages. He falls for Ariyanachi (Aishwarya Rajesh) and enters wedlock with her.
Though Ariyanachi likes the leadership qualities of Ranasingam, she wants him to earn for the family too, so that they could save some money and build a house.
Hence, in a bid to fulfil the mission, he goes to a job in UAE. One day, Ariyanachi gets the shock of her life when she is informed that Ranasingam died in an oil factory mishap.
The rest is all about the struggles she undergo to bring home the mortal remains of her husband. At one point, she even meets the Prime Minister.
Though there are Vijay Sethupathi, Arunraja Kamaraj, Ranagaraj Pandey, Mohan Raman, Poo Ram and Bhavani Sri and everyone has done their parts well, it’s Aishwarya Rajesh who steals the show.
Shanmugham Muthusamy’s dialogues are razor sharp and question the system well. Cinematographer Sudarshan Srinivasan’s lens reflect the reality of Ramanthapuram district, while Ghibran’s background score is hard hitting.
Director Virumandi has presented a gutsy film in his maiden attempt itself. He has not made any commercial compromises and that’s the plus as well as minus of the film.
