Byri

– Review

‘Byri’ is the story of a pigeon racer and how his friends and family support him, but the tables turn when he gets into a feud with a local rowdy.

A newly-widowed mother struggles to connect with her son as he copes with his father’s death by immersing himself in the intense hobby of racing pigeons, threatening their relationship.

Directed by John Glady, the film has a lightweight first half but the movie picks up pace in the second half.

The director has dived this deep into the concept of pigeon racing this much, and that’s why Byri works so well.

Syeed has done very well as the protagonist of the film.  Meghana Ellen, Viji Sekar and John Glady have all delivered what was expected from them.

Most of the other characters are done by newcomers who have performed considerably well.

Music by Arun Raj gels well with the theme of the movie and camerawork by A V Vasantha Kumar is good. Rest of the technical aspects are passable.

Rating: 3.5/5
