“Aghathiyaa”

– Movie Review

Director Aghathiyaa’s (Jiiva) life goes awry due to the cancellation of the shooting of his film putting the life of his mother (Rohini) suffering from cancer in danger.

To overcome his financial struggles, he takes a drastic decision which results in untoward incidents in his life.

What is the decision that he makes and how it is connected to his girl friend Veena (Raashii Khanna), mysterious doctor Siddhartha (Arjun Sarja) form the crux of the Narration.

Director Pa Vijay has tried to deliver a complex narrative and has somewhat succeeded in it.

The core of the movie revolves around the emotional ties of the characters, and the lengths they will go to, to save the ones they love.

Jiiva plays the role of the aspiring director with ease. His performance is good and so too are the emotions. Raashii Khanna is good but she got limited scope to perform.

Arjun gets a more importance in the film and has done justice to the role. Rohini is fine in the role of the mother.

Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music creates the much needed impact for the movie and Deepak Kumar Padhy’s cinematography is good.

Rating: 3.8/5
