Veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna recently visited a cancer hospital in Hyderabad where a number of cancer patients were stranded because of the lockdown.

Vijay Deverakonda said, “None of us were prepared for this. Not mentally and not financially. I am responsible for my family and the 35 people who are employed by me. It has taken me the past one month to sort out my finances so that I could provide for them.
I have decided to donate a sum of Rs. 1.30 crore to provide groceries and other essentials to families in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who are struggling to meet their daily needs. This initiative called the Middle Class Fund is to be carried out by The Deverakonda Foundation. This should meet the immediate needs of the people who are struggling like my family sometimes used to before the release of Pelli Choopulu.”
Vijay Deverakonda, who recently started an initiative to employ youth by giving them skill development training, said, “The aim of this initiative is to provide employment opportunities to 1 lakh youth. This is going to be tougher after the pandemic and it’s devastating impact on the economy. We will try our best to make this happen.”
